Merry Christmas,/Happy Holidays, nearly 1 month late.
How were your holidays?
Mine weren’t the greatest: so I’m pretty glad they’re over. Here’s a timeline of events in the month leading up to Christmas for an explanation as to why;
November 21 – put my cat of 17 years down
November 23 – find out I have intestinal parasites
November 30 – get called to a meeting at school, find out I’m being accused of an academic offense
November 30 – December 17 – deal with aforementioned school bullshit
December 21 – put my dog of 14 years down
Christmas is a super busy season for me. There’s Seaweed’s family christmas dinner on Christmas Eve, presents/Christmas breakfast on Christmas day as well Seaweed’s immediate family Christmas dinner and gift exchange, and my dad’s family Christmas get-together on the 26th. It’s go-go-go for a solid three days when quite honestly this year, it didn’t even feel like Christmas.
Christmas morning I got a lot of kitchen-y stuff to move out – I think it’s my Mom’s excuse of buying things for me to move out as presents rather than randomly (rationale for my Dad, I suppose), an iPod dock, a polka dot blanket I looooove, Breaking Bad seasons 1-3 on DVD, and some books and whatnot from my parents. They paid for my iPhone back in September (full price :/), so I knew I wasn’t getting as much as I normally do for Christmas – I do love what I did get though! Seaweed got me Dexter season 1 on DVD, an angry birds iPhone case, a Howard from Big Bang Theory bobble head, and a diamond ring I’ve been wanting for the past year from People’s. I LOVE IT. It wasn’t the right size – which he knew, but it was the only one they had, so I had to get it resized. I finally got it back last Friday – and it hasn’t left my finger since.
New Years Eve was pretty low-key, which I was thankful for. My best friend and her boyfriend didn’t feel like going out either – so they came over to my place with Seaweed and I. We ate some good food; shrimp, jalapeno cheese rolls, chicken with bacon and jalapenos, taco dip, and bacon-wrapped scallops – and played Monopoly until 11:50, then watched the ball drop in New York on TV at midnight. We spent some time in the hot tub after that, and called it a night around 3 a.m. A couple people who’ve asked what I did for New Years gave me the “really? you played Monopoly on New Years?” schpeal, but really – it was a fun night, and I wouldn’t have wanted to spend it any other way.

I'm a 20 year old college student residing in Canada. I'm sarcastic, blunt, and have quite a wide vocabulary. I'll admit to being judgmental and snotty, but it can also be called freedom of speech. I'm not afraid to share what I feel, so watch out! ...

That’s such a rough period of time! I’m so sorry about the passing of your pets in the midst of all that
