R.I.P. Kitty.
Mike just took my cat, Dolly, to the vet to have her put down.
For the last little while, she’s been very sick. Kidney problems, thryoid problems, etc. Over the past month or so, she’s gone deaf and blind. She was happy though; still eating, still purring, still going to the bathroom, so we weren’t going to make any drastic decisions.
Last night, I picked her up; and she peed on me. She NEVER does that. I didn’t think anything of it; I thought I scared her. I put her back in her bed, and went to bed.
This afternoon, she looked pretty ‘strange’ laying in her bed. Her back end looked very distorted. My mom jiggled her back feet and normally she’d growl when you did this; she didn’t even acknowledge we were touching her. We put her on the floor out of her bed, and she couldn’t move. She had lost all control of her bladder; she was dripping when we picked her up.
Neither my mom nor I could call anyone, we just sat there and cried. For the past two hours, we’ve just been sitting at the kitchen table; talking about various things to get our mind off of her, but then one would look over and see her and start crying.
I texted Mike and asked if he could take her in. I got my friend, Camiee, to call the vet to make sure we could bring her in and to find out the cost; not that it really mattered. Mike finished up quickly at work and came over.
He just left with her, and I already miss her so much. I know it’s for the best. I’ve had her since I was three though, it’s rough.
Keep my kitty in your thoughts.
And me.
